TOM GAINER OUT OF SURGERY - Family Requests Prayers

Former Calhoun Commissioner Tom Gainer is now in the Intensive Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic, after undergoing extensive brain surgery related to cancer. Family members report he came out of the initial surgery at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, with surgical procedures for reconstruction lasting until 10 p.m. Thursday night. A report from a family member Friday night said Tom was awake and had spoken to a visitor for ten minutes. Gainer experienced a bout with cancer a few years ago and has been in remission. The Gainer family and many of his friends have asked for prayers during this crisis.
