INCREASED COAL WEIGHTS WOULD NOT AFFECT LOGGERS - Enforcement Procedures Could Change

West Virginia Department of Highways weights and measures crews were stopping logging trucks on U.S. 33-119 east of Spencer while the legislature contemplated overweight coal trucks. The coal interests are wanting to increase weights to 120,000 pounds, but the proposal would not affect logging trucks. However, the state could increase the intensity of weight enforcement on all haulers.
