WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Middle School Student Has 9mm Pistol At Ballgame

NICHOLAS ARMED ROBBERY - Nicholas County sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery in Nettie just past midnight Tuesday at the Nettie Go-Mart.

The suspect confronted the clerk with a gun and left with some cash.

Deputies said the suspect left the store and headed toward Route 20.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT CAUGHT WITH GUN - Beckley Police say a Raleigh County middle school student has been detained in a juvenile facility after being caught with a gun, marijuana and alcohol at a high school football game.

Police say the student has been charged with possession of a firearm by a juvenile, possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol at a homecoming game for Woodrow Wilson High School.

They say the gun was a 9 millimeter pistol.

The homecoming dance was canceled.

CHARLESTON HOME INVASION - Charleston Police are investigating a home invasion that happened in the city's East End.

Officers are searching for the suspect who they say held an elderly man and his friend at gunpoint at a home.

The suspect asked to use the restroom and then came out with a small caliber handgun and demanded money, drugs and the homeowner's cell phone.

LEWIS MAN SHOOTS INTO OWN HOME - The Lewis County Sheriff's Department have arrested a man for allegedly shooting towards his own house twice.

Deputies said 40-year-old Robert Helmick fired a 30-30 rifle inside his Horner home and a .22 caliber revolver into his front door.

Two women were inside of the house at the time.

Helmick was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment and is currently in Central Regional Jail with $10,000 bond.
