Paul W. Simmons, 78 - Cox's Mill

Paul W. Simmons, 78, of Cox's Mill, West Virginia, departed this life at 7:50 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born September 15, 1934 on Ellis Run, Troy, West Virginia, son of the late Burl and Stella White Simmons.

Paul was retired from Republic Steel with 30 years of service. He was also a painter, laborer, and a Protestant by faith.

On December 28, 1973 he was united in marriage to Ann Davis Simmons who preceded him in death on November 11, 2005.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Pam Simmons of Tennessee and 1 son, Jeff Simmons of Arizona. There are several step-children, 2 granddaughters, and 1 great-granddaughter also surviving. 3 sisters, Glenna Moyers of Ashland Ohio, Wanda Adams of Navarre Ohio, and Nyla Sue Altfather (Dan) of Polk Ohio.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Betty Jo; 3 brothers, Eddie, Marvin, and Joseph Lee; and 1 nephew, Randy Moyers.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. Glenville, West Virginia, at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday September 25, 2012 with Rev. Joe Sealey officiating. Burial will follow in the Troy IOOF cemetery, Troy WV. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Mortuary.
