MAKESHIFT I-79 MEMORIAL FOR SLAIN OFFICERS STILL GETTING VISITORS

(09/22/2012)
People are still stopping at the Wallback I-79 interchange to pay their respects to two fallen West Virginia State Troopers, slain by a gunman who killed them from the backseat of their cruiser

A thousand more have scribbled messages on the interstate pillars supporting a bridge, while others have left flowers, mementos and messages.

Clay County residents are working to place a permanent marker at the site in their memory.
