People are still stopping at the Wallback I-79 interchange to pay their respects to two fallen West Virginia State Troopers, slain by a gunman who killed them from the backseat of their cruiser A thousand more have scribbled messages on the interstate pillars supporting a bridge, while others have left flowers, mementos and messages. Clay County residents are working to place a permanent marker at the site in their memory.
