HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE SCHEDULED IN GRANTSVILLE THIS WEEK - Pre-Registration Required

The WV Division of Natural Resources will hold a Hunter Education Class in Calhoun County at the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department on September 28 & 29, 2012.

On September 28th class will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and September 29th from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This is a 10-hour course and students must attend all sessions to be certified.

In 1994 West Virginia passed legislation that requires any person born on or after January 1, 1975 must present proof of certification from an approved Hunter Education course to the license agent every time a hunting license is purchased.

The course is open to the public and is free of charge. Children under the age of - 12 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

Students must be 10 years of age to receive permanent certification. Students who are eight and nine years of age will receive a temporary certification.

Class size is limited so pre-registration is required. If you would like to preregister or need additional information, please contact the WV DNR District VI office at 304-420-4550 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
