Ernest "Dwight" Montgomery, 66 - Glenville

Ernest "Dwight" Montgomery age 66 of Glenville West Virginia, departed this life at 8:34 P.M., Wednesday September 12, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born November 26, 1945 in Glenville, son of the late Ernest and Edna G. Cunningham Montgomery.

Dwight was a graduate of Glenville High School Class of 1964, Army Veteran during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany. He was employed at 4-D Manufacturing, started and built Appalachian Concrete, then Appalachian Piping, Appcon Lumber and Supply, and then became the plant manager for Flying W Plastics.

Dwight was hard working with the ability to "make things work". He loved golf, fishing, being a part of family gatherings, and spending time with his granddaughters whom he loved dearly. He had a great sense of humor and made his family and friends smile often.

He was always able to create small bond's with people, whether they would be his doctors whom are told not to develop emotional connections, or just the random person who waited on him at the store. They all seemed to smile just a little bit more when dad came around.

Surviving are 4 sons, Mark Montgomery (Jessica) of Glenville, Nick Montgomery of Ashville North Carolina, Luke Montgomery student at Fairmont State University, and Dylan Montgomery student at West Virginia Wesleyan College; 2 granddaughters, Paige and Jadeyn Montgomery of Glenville; 1 brother, Fred Montgomery (Marilyn) of Glenville; 2 sisters, Carolyn McCauley (Lawrence) of Mansfield Ohio and Debbie Roberts (Mike) of Frametown WV.

Dwight is also survived by stepmother, Anna Ruth Montgomery of Glenville; stepsister Jolene Westfall (Larry) of Frametown; special family friend Pamela Hinzman; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 1 stepsister Kathy Nolan.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Glenville First Baptist Church on Monday September 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Chris Cosner officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services at the church.
