SPENCER YOUTH DESCRIBED AS 'NICE KID' - Murder Of Doddridge Family

(09/10/2012)
The Doddridge County Sheriffs Department has yet to release information regarding the triple-homicide of three family members, allegedly slain by another family member, a 16-year-old high school junior.

Officials have indicated the youth, Joseph Spencer, has or will be charged with the triple homicide.

Frederick A. Spencer III and his wife, Dixie L. Spencer, and their young daughter, Patience Josette "P.J." Spencer, were shot to death on Labor Day in their home near West Union.

The father of the deceased Frederick A. Spencer III has told media that Joseph Spencer was an honor student, quiet and never took drugs.

"Nice kid," he said, "It's been more than you can imagine," saying that Joseph was the one who called authorities after the shooting.

A memorial service was held Saturday in West Union, attended by hundreds.

The Parkersburg News issued a Freedom of Information request to obtain the criminal complaint.

The Sheriff's department says they are not releasing information because of "juveniles" involved in the incident.
