| Charles C. Woodford, 84, of Glenville WV, passed away quietly Monday evening, September 3, 2012, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following a brief illness. Charles was born March 8, 1928, in Tanner, WV, to the late Jesse and Alice Woodford. He joined the Army after completing his high school education and served in Japan with the occupational forces at the end of World War II. After leaving the Army, he moved to Ohio, and worked at the Ford Motor Forging plant in Canton, Ohio, for 36 ½ years. After retiring, Charles moved back to West Virginia, where he met and married Ina Kirkpatrick of Glenville on December 25, 1987. Along with being a loving husband and father, Charles was very active in the community being a life member of both the VFW and Knights of Pythias. He was also, a member of the American Legion, Odd Fellows, Dramatic Order Knights of Khorassan, Cedar Creek Satellite Club, Tanner Satellite Club, and was active at the Gilmer County Senior Center. He attended Stewart's Creek Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Claude and Boyd and son Charles. He is survived by his wife Ina; brother Robert; son Bob Greenlief; daughter Mona McCaulley; daughter, Debbie Nice; son Terry Barr; daughter Alice Crawford (Bob); daughter Cathy; sons Scott, Todd (Kit), and Marc; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday September 8, 2012, 11:00 am at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Pastor William Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodford Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
