Everett Parsons, 92 - formerly of Calhoun

Everett Parsons, 92, resident of Abbyshire Place, Gallia County Ohio, loving husband and father, went to be with his Lord on August 29, 2012.

He was born in Calhoun County WV, a son of the late Henry and Lucille Tucker Parsons.

Everett worked for Curry Lumber, enjoyed playing his guitar, fiddle and banjo. He enjoyed raising gardens and making molasses. He loved to hunt, fish and ginseng. In later years, he like to work jigsaw puzzles and play bingo.

Surviving are eight children, Virginia Wright of Shock WV, Harley (Jean) Parsons of Tallmadge OH, Kathleen (John) Green of Akron OH, Wanda Parsons of Petroleum WV, Katherine (Bernard) Morris of Normantown WV, Kenneth Parsons of Petroleum, Shelia (Ottis) Halstead of Palestine WV, April (Phillip) Halstead of Palestine; one son-in-law Bob Bolen; 18 grandchildren, Lorina, Richard, Billy, Matt, Mike, Mary, Shirley, Chad, David, Angie, Laura, Crystal, Stephanie, Shelly, Doug, Jennifer, Brenda, Jamie; 37 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his loving wife of 61 years, Lura Parsons; one infant son Harold Dean Parsons; one daughter Madgeline Bolen; granddaughter, Stephanie Bolen; great grandchild Bradley; son-in-law Ermin Wright and all thirteen of his siblings, Okey, Ella, Perry, Joeseph, Seldon, Ocie, John, Vadie, Manford, Bertie, Emily, Tennessee and Josephine.

Funeral services will be held Sunday September 2, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with interment to follow in the Lambert-Parsons Cemetery on Crummies Creek. Rev. Roger Halstead and Roy Halstead will officiate. Friends may call from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.
