ARNOLDSBURG WOMAN FACING 1-5 YEARS ON DRUG CHARGES

(08/31/2012)
An Arnoldsburg woman plead to lesser charges in a drug case against her in Spencer.

Samantha Brooke Starcher, 21, had been charged with distributing pain medication.

Starcher had been indicted in January in Roane County on six felony charges, including possession with intent to deliver Fentanyl, hydrodone and marijuana, plus three counts of conspiracy.

In Roane County Circuit Court, she pled guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

The charges carry a maximum of 1-5 years in prison.

Judge David W. Nibert set sentencing for October 22.

In another case, charges against an Arnoldsburg man, a former resident of Spencer, were dismissed when he pled guilty to a misdemeanor possession charge.

Police had found five pot plants growing behind the resident of Leslie D. Haverty, 55.

Roane Magistrate Russell Goodwin sentenced Haverty to six months of home confinement in Calhoun County, and ordered him to pay court costs.
