Leondine Pearl Horton Mannion 87 - formerly of Roane Co.

Leondine Pearl Horton Mannion 87, of Valley Stream on Long Island, New York died June 7, 2012.

She was born June 19, 1924 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Richard L. and Oachel Horton.

She went to school at Billings until the 8th grade and then attended Spencer High School her freshman and sophomore years. She then moved with her family to Weston in Lewis County where she graduated from Weston High School with the class of 1942. Upon graduation went to Washington D.C. and worked for the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover. But she always loved West Virginia and said anytime a car was going there she would be in it.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas John Mannion who she married in 1945; three children, Thomas, Jr., Catherine, and Daniel; a sister, Etta Sergent of Billings, West Virginia; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Sarah White and Richard Horton, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on August 25, 2012 at the Beech Grove Methodist Church in Billings with Rev. Larry Jones officiating.
