HARRISVILLE GETS $1.5 MIL TO IMPROVE WASTEWATER SYSTEM

State Director Bobby Lewis has announced that USDA Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Loan of $102,000 and a grant of $1,343,000 for the Town of Harrisville, Ritchie County. Rural Development funds will be used to construct upgrades, repairs and replacements which will benefit approximately 821 existing customers and will extend service to approximately 11 new customers in Ritchie County. "The proposed project will eliminate much of the infiltration of groundwater into the sewer system, which will decrease the quantity of water to be pumped and will reduce the electrical power consumed," explained Lewis.
