CALHOUN DHHR BUILDING NEW OFFICE AT INDUSTRIAL PARK - Site Being Put To Good Use

(08/11/2012)
After years of non-development, the Calhoun Industrial Park above Grantsville is being put to use.

Diane Ludwig of the LKADC told county commissioners that another lot has been sold for $45,000 for the construction of a new WV Department of Health and Human Resource office.

The facility will reportedly be re-located from Main Street, Grantsville.

The building will be 10,000 square feet.

Burkett Tire purchased a lot and is constructing their service business on the property.

Property was sold to the Town of Grantsville for the construction of the water plant.

Ludwig said two other lots have also been sold and two are left to sell.

"The property is finally being put to good use," said Ludwig, the park was established about 40 years ago.

"All money from the sale of lots goes toward paying off the original loan from the state's economic development authority," said Ludwig.

"We have carefully followed the state's rules for its development, overcoming lots of hurdles," Ludwig concluded.
