Glenville, WV - Mary Wellings of Rosedale has been awarded the Virginia West English Scholarship from Glenville State College for the 2012-2013 academic school year.
This scholarship was established in 1998 to honor Miss Virginia West, Professor Emeritus, who served as Professor of English and Chairwoman of the Language Division at Glenville State College.
The recipient must be an upperclassman majoring in education who has a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average, demonstrates leadership abilities, and is ready to enter the student teaching internship.
Wellings is a senior English Education Major.
