Mary K. Mann, 91 - formerly of Spencer

Mary K. Mann, 91, of Delray Beach, Florida died July 21, 2012 in her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Mann was born February 9, 1921 to the late Laura and Hubert Smith Dickey of Fairfield, Illinois. Mary was a longtime resident of Spencer, West Virginia, where she was very active in the church. She was instrumental in bringing a Southern Baptist Church to Spencer. She worked tirelessly in the organization and development of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She held Bible study and Sunday services in her home until 1974 when land was purchased and construction of the new church building was completed.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Her husband of 54 years, Richard C. Mann preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceding her was a brother, Thomas Dickey and a sister, Bessie Grothie.

She is survived by sons, Dennis L. Mann of Delray Beach, James R. Rodgers of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Jack Rodgers of Hyannisport, Massachusetts; twelve grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Friday at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer before moving to the church for services.

A reception luncheon will follow at The Centre at Maple Hills farm following the services.
