Bruce N. Mitchell, 64 - Spencer

Bruce N. Mitchell, 64, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on July 16, 2012 at his home unexpectedly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Nancy Nelson Mitchell of Houston, Texas.

He is survived by three brothers, Craig Mitchell of Spencer, Scott Mitchell of San Marcus, Texas, and Kevin Mitchell of Houston. Also surviving are four children, Mitch (Devon) Mitchell of Siler City, North Carolina, Colin (Amanda) Mitchell of Looneyville, West Virginia, Megan Mitchell of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Marshall (Nicole) Mitchell of Spencer; and six grandchildren.

He faithfully delivered mail in the Spencer area for over 30 years and was a proud member of the NALC Union. He was also a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Spencer. His greatest enjoyment came from cooking, reading, farming, and celebrating holidays with his family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 5:00pm Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer with a meal following at the St. John's United Methodist Church from 5:00 to 6:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. John's United Methodist Church, 335 Church Street, Spencer, WV 25276.
