When you think about all the discomfort during the recent storm outage, you might consider what happened to an 18-year-old boy.

The teen is fighting for his life after being struck by lightning while playing softball at a church camp in Parkersburg Wednesday.

Zach Sandy of Clarksburg was struck by a bolt of lightning at the back of his head that traveled down his body and out his feet, according to news reports.

Witnesses said it was not raining at the time, but there was a lot of clouds in the sky.

The youth's shirt and shoes were singed and his cell phone, which was in his back pocket, melted.

He is on life support with a machine breathing for him.

Tests that have been performed show some positive results of recovery.
