Mary Wilmoth, 91 - Normantown

Mary Wilmoth, age 91, of Normantown, WV departed this life at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born January 23, 1921 in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Joe Frank and Olga Kennedy James.

Mary was a homemaker and member of the Steer Run Missionary Baptist Church at Normantown. She was a quilter who took great pleasure in making her quilts, often giving them to family and friends. She also loved her flowers and gardening.

On May 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to Leonard Wilmoth who preceded her in death September 1, 1010.

Surviving are, a son, Joe Wilmoth and wife Patricia of Normantown; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Dawson Wilmoth of Grantsville WV, wife of the late Larry Steve Wilmoth; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Wilmoth of Toledo OH, Ryan Wilmoth of Parkersburg WV, Steve Wilmoth of Grantsville, James Wilmoth and wife Jessica of Grantsville, and Andrew Wilmoth of Normantown; 4 great grandchildren, Isaiah and Braden Wilmoth, Nicholas Cottrell and Kaden Roughton; 2 step great grandchildren, Ray and Dartagnan Atkinson; 1 sister, Frances Chadwell of Normantown; 3 brothers-in-law, Leamon Turner of Normantown, Jesse Huff of Weston WV, Hayward Wilmoth (Judy) of Elyria OH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Steven Lee Wilmoth; one great granddaughter, Jasmine Cottrell; 2 brothers, Jack and Ewing James; sisters, Bess Norman, Ruth Turner, Joan Huff, and Maple Dehart; and a brother-in-law, Dallas Chadwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Lower Steer Run Missionary Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 with Elder Mark Minney officiating. Burial will follow in the James Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville and one hour prior to services at the Church.
