An estimated 350 to 400 employees will be hired at the new federal prison in Gilmer
County, and three of the top administrators are on site. They have a temporary office
at Glenville State College.
The contractor's keys are expected to be turned over sometime in August, 2002. The
facility will open later this fall.
A job seminar is scheduled this Tuesday, July 9 beginning at 6 p.m. in the GSC
administration building auditorium. The seminar will cover job opportunities and
qualifications for employment with the Bureau of Prisons.
The seminar will also cover the application and hiring process.
A business seminar will also be conducted the same day starting at 12 noon at the
GSC Heflin Student Union. The seminar will cover business and services needed at
the institution.
