350-400 PRISON JOBS WILL BE HIRED - Job And Business Seminar Tuesday In Glenville

An estimated 350 to 400 employees will be hired at the new federal prison in Gilmer County, and three of the top administrators are on site. They have a temporary office at Glenville State College.

The contractor's keys are expected to be turned over sometime in August, 2002. The facility will open later this fall.

A job seminar is scheduled this Tuesday, July 9 beginning at 6 p.m. in the GSC administration building auditorium. The seminar will cover job opportunities and qualifications for employment with the Bureau of Prisons.

The seminar will also cover the application and hiring process.

A business seminar will also be conducted the same day starting at 12 noon at the GSC Heflin Student Union. The seminar will cover business and services needed at the institution.
