DRIVER FLEES AFTER RT. 16 CRASH - Police Dog Used To Track, Firemen Continue Electric Pole Fires

(07/12/2012)
After a two vehicle collision on Rt. 16 south of Arnoldsburg at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, one of the drivers fled.

While there were no injuries in the side-swipe crash, one driver fled on foot up Crummis Creek Rd. and likely to the woods.

State Police summoned a police dog from the Roane County Sheriff's Department to track the man, apparently to no avail.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

The Arnoldsburg VFD was called to the scene.

Firemen are still answering calls to fires created by problems with electric lines.

The Grantsville VFD responded to such a call shortly before midnight Wednesday at Big Springs, a report of trees on fire.
