Fire Chief Randy Perkins says members of the fire department and several volunteers have been dutiful in responding to the disaster in their coverage area.

In addition to answering fire calls and providing assistance with ambulance calls, Perkins said, "We have been to just about every house in every holler, checking on people and delivering food and water."
