OFFICER SHOOTS MAN IN STRUGGLE - A Bluefield man is dead after he was shot during a struggle over the weekend with a West Virginia trooper.

Investigators say the man stole a Bluefield Police cruiser while he was in custody Saturday night.

Then the suspect led police on a chase, until he jumped out of the vehicle on US Route 460.

A trooper managed to catch the suspect as he was running up a hill.

Police say while he was trying to take the man into custody, the suspect grabbed the officer's gun and wouldn't let it go.

That's when the trooper shot and killed him.

The name of the of the suspect has not been released.

DEADLY SHOOTING IN CLARKSBURG - Investigators have identified both the alleged shooter and the victim in Friday's deadly shooting in Clarksburg.

Police say 22-year-old Shawn Kisner shot 26-year-old Nicholas Ray Allen in the abdomen. Allen died overnight at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Kisner is charged with first degree murder and is in the North Central Regional Jail.

Allen, the victim, was reportedly one of two men who escaped custody from the Taylor County Sheriff's Department in February. 26-year-old James Moyer, who supposedly ran with Allen, was caught by authorities in June.
