POWER AND PHONE OUTAGE STILL WIDE-SPREAD LOCALLY

(04/05/2012)
More than 282,000 West Virginia homes and businesses remain without power after last Friday's powerful storm.

About 2,000 Calhoun customers still do not have power, as crews are working long hours in severe heat to restore it.

Thursday's forecast predicts a heat index about 100 degrees.

Many Calhoun phone customers are still without service.

State officials are saying it will likely be Saturday or Sunday before service is restored.
