WASTE MANAGEMENT WILL START TRASH SERVICE IN GRANTSVILLE JULY 1

(07/01/2012)
The Town of Grantsville will be getting a new garbage provider starting July 1.

The town is discontinuing the service because of the costs involved.

Waste Management, which describes itself as North America's leading waste services company, will commence servicing business and residential customers.

The company will be providing service for $14.37 a month, plus WV PSC tariff fuel surcharge.

In a statement regarding services, Waste Management outlined services:

- Trash collection/curb service

- Six-bag limit weighing less than 30 lbs. each

- Pick-up day is Wednesday

- All items above the six-bag limit will be a separate charge, paid in advance

- Items NOT collected at curbside: dirt, rock, brick, stone, liquid paint, car parts, batteries, tires, any explosives, hazardous or toxic chemicals or construction debris

Customers must place residential trash at the curb the night before to insure service

Waste Management observes holidays: New Years, memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. If none of the holidays falls on Service Day, the service will be delayed one day the entire holiday week.

Contact number: 1-800-593-9529.
