BODY DISCOVERED IN REMOTE AREA OF CLAY COUNTY - Likely Remains Of Missing Alzheimer's Subject

UPDATE - A body has been found in a remote area near Dundon in Clay County, likely a 62-year-old man with Alzheimer's who has been missing.

State Police say the body was found near a pond just off Dundon Creek Road about 3 p.m. Monday, miles from the nearest Road.

Authorities had to use ATVs to get to the location.

This is in the area where Jerry Holcomb walked away from a residence over a week ago.

A positive identification has not been made.

ORIGINAL STORY - A search continues for a missing Clay County man suffering from Alzheimer's who walked away from his residence on Dundon Road last week.

The family of 62-year-old Jerry Holcomb is clinging to hope that he's still alive.

The man's nephew Dustin Berry said, "He came in at about 7:30 and asked me if I needed anything to drink or anything to eat, and I said no I'm good Uncle Jerry. And then he walked off and I figured he came out to the front porch ..."

State Police issued a Silver Alert and officers and K-9 Units spent the past several days following up on tips, searching the heavily wooded area.

Holcomb is 5'8", 173 pounds and has green eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants, a Hawaiian shirt, and flip flops.
