WIRT CO. HEALTH CENTER GETS $521,000 GRANT TO IMPROVE ACCESS

A community health center in Wirt County was one of two West Virginia centers to receive federal grants to expand access to care.

Wirt County Health Services Association, Inc. in Elizabeth was awarded $521,250.

Pendleton Community Care in Franklin received $487,500.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the Health Center New Access Point grants on Wednesday.

Sebeliius says a total $128.6 million in grants was awarded to community health centers in 41 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands.
