Henry W. Cooper, Jr., 69 - Grantsville

Henry W. Cooper, Jr., 69, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away June 5, 2012 at home following a long illness.

He was the son of the late Henry W. Cooper, Sr. and Edyth Scheuler Cooper. He was a former board president of the Calhoun County Park, former treasurer of the Lions Club, a volunteer for the Calhoun County Library, a fourth grade math tutor, youth softball and basketball coach as well as many other activities and interests. He was very active member of his community locally and previously in Pennsylvania.

Henry retired from the Moon Area School District in 1997 where he taught physical education, math and health. He enjoyed gardening both indoor and outdoor plants, beekeeping, fitness, karate, reading and spending time with his "furry children", Spencer, Holmes, and Tab.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; one sister, Nancy (Peter) Bergmann of Loudon TN as well as his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calhoun County Park, P O Box 276, Grantsville, WV, 26147.

Friends may call at the visitation service to be held Thursday June 7, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
