HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT - Crop Of Fawns Hitting The Ground

(04/17/2026)
Here in 2026 the deer population is near an all-time low

A newborn fawn (shown above) is barely a foot tall. It was standing in the middle of Crummies Creek Road where Forester Russ Richardson came upon mother and baby.

The mother ran up the hill and the fawn just collapsed in a heap in a ditchline.

The mother stood about twenty feet away watching the fawn. The fawn laid there while staring at Russ and did not move until he was almost out of sight.
