Tyler Thurmer of Mt. Zion, was chosen as the recipient of the Michael P. Whipkey II Memorial Automotive Scholarship last week.

Michael, the son of Mike and Nancy Whipkey of Arnoldsburg, WV was a member of the Class of 2007 at Calhoun High School and a student of the Automotive Technology program at the Calhoun Gilmer Career Center.

Tyler is a member of the class of 2012 Calhoun County High School, and the son of Kevin and Ronda Rose of Mt. Zion.
