GERWIG AND CHURCH NAMED HEAD OF 2012 CHS CLASS

Calhoun County Schools has named Rochelle Nichole Gerwig, Valedictorian and Samantha Brooke Church, Salutatorian for the Class of 2012 at Calhoun County High School. They will be recognized during graduation exercises on Friday, May 18, 7:00 p.m. at the school.

Rochelle Nichole Gerwig, Valedictorian

Rochelle (left) is the daughter of Thomas and Jamie Gerwig of Grantsville. Her high school activities include National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Class Vice-President and Glenville State College Hidden Promise Scholar.

She attended WSAZ Best of the Class. Rochelle participates in Cross Country, softball, basketball and volleyball. She is a member of the Knotts Memorial Methodist Church.

Rochelle plans to attend Marietta College and major in health science and then attend a Physician's Assistant program.

Samantha Brooke Church, Salutatorian

Samantha (right) is the daughter of George Church of Arnoldsburg and Stacie Hickman of Grantsville. Her high school activities include volleyball, Red Devil Revues, theatre and student council. Samantha is a member of the National Honor Society and has 14 hours of college credit prior to graduation.

Her community activities include Learn & Serve and the American Red Cross Blood Drive.

Samantha plans to attend West Virginia University - Parkersburg and major in Elementary Education.
