As most members of the community know, Calhoun County Schools will be taking part in the WESTEST2 during the week of May 7-May 11, 2012. In order to review, 5th graders participated in their version of "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?"

The onstage classroom consisted of 9 students, but all 5th graders were able to participate and answer every single question using an interactive classroom performance system (handheld clickers.) The students received immediate feedback and could also see the percentage of who answered correctly on every question.

They invited contestants Mr. Steve Whited, Mrs. Carla Taylor, Mr. Adam O'Harrow and Mr. Don Poage to challenge their smarts. Teachers had to remind Mr. Whited and Mrs. Taylor that the competition was for the "kids" as they were hassling over their scores!

"It was really fun! None of them were smarter than a 5th grader!" said Samantha Hall (Grade 5 student.) "You can tell that the teachers had taught all the students a lot because we got all of the contestants out!"
