HEALTH OFFICIALS TO CONDUCT RAPID COMMUNITY HEALTH ASSESSMENT

(05/12/2012)
The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR), Bureau for Public Health (BPH), will conduct a rapid community health assessment on May 14-16 2012 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

On these days, officials will survey randomly selected households in Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood counties. Surveyors will carry credentials to identify themselves as public health staff. A short questionnaire will be conducted with household members on topics such as emergency preparedness, access to health services, and chronic disease status.

The results of the survey will help local officials identify health and service needs in the Mid-Ohio Valley and help them better prepare in the event of an emergency. Therefore, cooperation and participation of the public is greatly appreciated. A report detailing the results of the survey will be provided to the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department within one week.
