MISTER BEE CHIPS COMING BACK TO STORE SHELVES

(05/07/2012)
The region's favorite, Mister Bee potato chips is back in stores.

The company filed for bankruptcy last year, has now resumed production.

The love for the chip could be challenged with a price increase, a suggested retail price for a 10-ounce is $4.29, or 30 cents higher than a 10-ounce bag of Snyder of Berlin chips.

But most retail outlets are selling the chips for less.

Potato chips have become rather pricey in recent years.

Mister Bee, a few years ago, went to a healthier, non-greasy cooking formula, which customers quickly rejected.

The company is the only potato chip manufacturer in the state.
