An online YouTube video from Saint Patrick's Day weekend that showed WVU students heavily drinking made a lot of folks with the university and the city of Morgantown furious, according to media accounts.

Now a study has come out that shows WVU students out drink their peers on college campuses on a regular basis.

The new survey is from the people who handle the schools alcohol education program. saying Mountaineer students out drank their Big 12 counterparts.

It also shows they out drank most others schools across the country.

"This is a problem a lot of universities," said WVU Vice President of Student Affairs, Ken Gray. "It's one we have to begin to address head on."

One of the most shocking numbers from the study said that WVU students averaged downing a higher number of drinks every night of the week.

"Most of it indicated these things were occurring off campus, at bars" Gray said.
