UPDATE: SMITHVILLE MAN DIES IN CAR CRASH

UPDATE - A Ritchie County man was killed in an accident late Friday on U.S. 33 in Lewis County, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Department. Police say Ryan Meredith Scott, 29, of Smithville, lost control of the vehicle and drove off the left side of the road, rolled over and came to rest on it's top. Scott was trapped in the vehicle and later died at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Deputies indicated that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. ORIGINAL STORY 4/23/12 - Ryan M. Scott, 29, of Smithville, died April 20 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, following an auto accident. He was employed as a log grader and buyer for Industrial Timber and Lumber Co. of Belington and was a member of Upper Steer Run Baptist Church of Gilmer County. Funeral services will be Monday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with burial in the King Knob Cemetery, Mahone.
