Jesse William Jett, Jr., 85 - Left Hand

Jesse William Jett, Jr., 85, of Left Hand, West Virginia, died at 4:10 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in the CAMC - Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was born January 17, 1927, at Walton, a son of the late Jesse William and Matilda E. Harris Jett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lucille Queen Jett; a daughter, Brenda Lee Jett; four brothers, Woody, E.R. "Herb," Ray and Jim Jett; six sisters, Hazelene Kerns, Freda Drake, Elsie Greathouse, Gertrude McGlothlin, Nellie Smith and Ruby Jett.

Mr. Jett was a retired employee of the Roane County Board of Education. He was a Christian and formerly attended the Rocky Branch Advent Christian Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, listening to bluegrass music and trading, especially guns.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Glenn Hudkins of Walton; a granddaughter and her husband, Jessica Hudkins-Johns and her husband, Kevin Johns of Left Hand.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Rocky Branch Cemetery, Walton, with the Rev. Jake Hersman officiating. There will be no visitation.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
