Maxine R. Spaur, 83 - Sand Fork

Maxine R. Spaur, 83, of Sand Fork Road, Sand Fork, West Virginia, departed this life at 6:10 p.m., Monday April 16, 2012 following a short illness.

Born July 1, 1928 daughter of the late Lewis and Lessie Gross Murphy.

Maxine was a former Secretary at Sand Fork High School and Elementary School. She retired in 2008 from the Gilmer County Court House, County Clerk's office. She was a member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church, and she enjoyed her flowers and birds, gardening, traveling, shopping, and loved to cook.

On September 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to James B. "Bud" Spaur, who survives at their Sand Fork home.

Surviving are one son and one daughter; Buddy Spaur of Parkersburg West Virginia, and Dwanetta Martin of Glenville West Virginia. One brother; Donald Murphy of Glenville, Four grandchildren; Thomas Chapman and Emilie Martin of Glenville, Lee Spaur and Dorinda Morrison both of Parkersburg, several great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sand Fork Baptist Church 11:00 a.m., Friday April 20, 2012 with Pastor Phil Wilson and Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Spaur Family Cemetery at Sand Fork. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Sand Fork Baptist Church.
