MOCK DISASTER SET FOR TODAY - Calhoun Responders Will Participate

A mock disaster is set for Saturday at Calhoun's 911 Center at 5 p.m. with county responders participating. according to Kathy Wood, 911 and OES Director.

Dinner will be served following the event.

Disaster Scenario

A call comes into the 911 center of a two car MVA with possible 8 patients unknown injuries or entrapment on Route 16 south Calhoun Highway, Mt. Zion.

Dispatch tones station 300 and station 400 with first tones, also calling for law enforcement.

Upon second tones they summon station 410 and station 100 for assistance.

First on scene is Calhoun County EMS 464 who radios advises that more resources are needed, they request Station 500 and any other EMS personnel that can assist and that they have IC control of the scene.

They also advise that there is a gas spill from the vehicles coating the road. Station 300 members are next to arrive, they request for station 200 to be toned for assistance. Station 300 takes IC 464 radios in with triage update, stating there is eight patients with two entrapped.

They are two critical patients with broken femurs and possible internal bleeding showing signs of shock, two entrapped with possible spinal injury, one black tagged, and three walking wounded.

There is no chopper flight available due to weather.
