Mary F. "Peggy" Blake , 86 - Clarksburg

Mary F. "Peggy" Blake age 86 of Philippi Pike, Clarksburg, West Virginia, formerly of Gilmer Station (Gilmer County), departed this life at 10:48 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, following an extended illness.

Born December 10, 1925 in Braxton County, daughter of the late Albert Ward and Elizabeth Stover Snyder.

Peggy was a homemaker and mother, a member of the former Copen Creek United Methodist Church, member of Copen Creek Ladies Aid, former member of a a Gospel Quartet. She loved feeding the birds, but most of all she was a caretaker to her family members.

On February 15, 1946 she was married to Fred Carl Blake who preceded her in death January 5, 2006.

Surviving are 2 daughters and 2 sons, Donna McClain and husband Terry of Clarksburg, Sandy Parker and fiancee Fred Gum of Glenville WV, Rick Blake and wife Robin of Sand Fork WV, and Rodney Blake of Newark, Delaware; 2 brothers, Denny Snyder of Sand Fork, and Jack Snyder and wife Doris of Wheeling WV; 8 grandchildren, Douglas B. McClain, Ronda Hess, Crystal Simmons, Stacey Parker, Jessica Ellen Blake and fiancee James Brown, Alicia L. Blake, Joshua B. Blake, and Drew A. Blake; 11 great grandchildren, Lisa Hess, Joshua and Desirae Miller, Erika Davis, Branson Hitt, Raegan and Caden Simmons, Delaney Johns, Isaiah and Gracie Hoskinson, and Lyric Blake; 1 great-great granddaughter, Mylea Hess.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by a grandson, David L. McClain in 2003; 2 brothers, Junior and Clarence Snyder; 2 sisters, Thelma Kuhl and Margaret Napalo.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville at 10:00 a.m., Thursday April 19, 2012 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery at Burnsville West Virginia. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
