GRANTSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH HYDROCODONE SALE AFTER STING

A Grantsville man, Melvin "Pinky" Ray Howell, Jr., 54, has been charged with a felony related to the possession and sale of Hydrocodone pills in Grantsville on March 30. Howell's arrest by the State Police followed a sting using a confidential informant. According to the criminal complaint, the informant completed a controlled purchase of 40 Hydrocodone pills for $200. The complaints indicate two different drug buys by an informant, including one made by the Grantsville Police Department State Police and the Grantsville Police Department obtained a search warrant, recovering hydrocodone prescribed pills to Howell. Howell is being held in Central Regional Jail on $16,000.
