Thelma Bibbee, 82 - formerly of the Beulah Hill Community

Thelma Bibbee, 82 formerly of the Beulah Hill Community passed away at the Worthington Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was born July 14, 1929 the daughter of the Late James and Beulah (Lynch) Bailey.

She was a 1947 graduate of Wirt County High School.

Thelma and her husband the late Lyle "Dick" Bibbee dedicated there life to the children of Wirt County in many ways.

Thelma volunteered at the Wirt County High School library, the West Virginia Extension Office, the 4-H association, the Elizabeth Hope Shop and the countless hours she and Dick spent at 4-H, FFA, and the fair grounds. New dorms were built at the fair grounds in 2002 named in there honor, "Bibbbe Hall."

She was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, Beulah Hill Homemakers, and honorary member of the Wirt County Fair Association, where they served on the board for years.

She was leader of the Beulah Hill 4-H Club for 42 years.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Norma (Jim) Dunn of Hilton Head SC and Eleanor (Tom) Rinehart of Walker WV; sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Bailey of Newark WV; two nieces, Susie (Doug) Groves of Huston TX and Marilynn Grandison of Morgantown WV; six nephews, Hank (Elaine) Rinehart of Walker, Jim (Sherri) Rinehart of Mineral Wells WV, Eric (Sharolyn) Rinehart of Parkersburg WV, Will (Connie) Bailey of Newark WV, Rance (Denise) Bailey of Elizabeth WV, Matt (Andrea) Bailey of Newark; several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, both her parents, and brother James "Bud" Bailey.

Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, March 19 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev Lee Williams and the Rev. Casey Stinespring officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 pm and Monday from 9 am until time of the service.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth.
