CALHOUN AND ROANE RESIDENTS STUDENT TEACHING FOR GSC

Glenville, WV - Two Calhoun County residents are currently completing their student teaching internships for Glenville State College.

Heidi Ann Allen is completing her student teaching in Early Education (PreK-K) and Elementary Education (K-6) at Pleasant Hill Elementary School under cooperating teachers Patricia Haught and Kristie Ritchie. Shelly Ratliff is her GSC supervisor. She is the daughter of Cheryl Hayman and the late Rick Cottrill. She and her husband John reside in Chloe with their children Rick, Noah, and Brandee.

Josie Brown Peck is student teaching in Physical Education (PreK-adult) and Health (5-Adult) at Pleasant Hill Elementary School under cooperating teacher Scott Golinsky and at Clay County High School with teacher Brian Collins. Dr. Shara Curry and Janet Bailey are her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Ernest and Cynthia Brown of Belva, West Virginia. She and her husband Jonathan reside in Arnoldsburg.

Three Roane County residents are currently completing their student teaching internships for Glenville State College.

Kayla Renee Smith is completing her student teaching in Elementary Education (K-6) at Glenville Elementary School under cooperating teacher Amanda Poole and in English (5-9) at Braxton County Middle School with teacher Leslie Shiflet.

Mary Bland Strickland and Melody Wise are her GSC supervisors. She is the daughter of Monica and Lester Adkins of Leroy.

Bridgette Renee Bowen of Spencer is student teaching in Music (Pre K-adult) at Spencer Elementary School under cooperating teacher Robin Ash and at Roane County High School and Spencer Middle School with teacher Hope Hunt. Dr. Shara Curry and Dr. David Lewis are Bowen's GSC Supervisors. She is the daughter of Gary and Vickie Bowen of Spencer.

Michael J. McHenry is completing his student teaching in Music (PreK-Adult) at Roane County High School and Spencer Middle School with teacher Hope Hunt and at Arnoldsburg Elementary School and Pleasant Hill Elementary School with teacher John Bagby. Dr. Shara Curry and Dr. David Lewis are his GSC Supervisors. McHenry and his wife Lindsay reside in Spencer. He is the son of Jim and Mary McHenry of Grafton, West Virginia.

Upon successful completion of their student teaching internships, these students are scheduled to receive their degrees during the 138th Glenville State College Commencement ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2012.
