David Bradford Raines, 86 - Spencer

David Bradford Raines, 86, of Spencer, West Virginia, died at his home, March 14, 2012, following a long illness. He was born October 21, 1925, at Countsville, a son of the late Daniel M. and Lola Kiser Raines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Dotson Raines; sisters, Wilma Jones, Dona Ellis and Gae Buck. He was retired from Southern States Spencer Co-op after 30 years of service. He was noted for his repairs of water pumps, washing machines, etc., after his retirement from Southern States. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Garnet Cummings Raines; son and daughter-in-law, Todd Anthony and Pam Raines of Eldersburg, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Julia Ann and Ron Bays of Corpus Christi, TX; brothers, Denver Raines of Kanawha City and Darrell Raines of Warrenton, VA; sisters, Opal Spencer of Buckhannon and Belva Jordan of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Jenna Dever, Daniel Raines and Megan Raines; great granddaughter, Emma Dever. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. James O. Epling officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
