(03/02/2012)
PULLS GUN ON FBI AGENT - A Lincoln County man is facing charges of threatening federal and state election fraud investigators with a gun.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Secretary of State's Office say James Matheny, 61, of Midkiff, was arrested at his home.

He's charged with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon after allegedly pulling out a gun and threatening to kill an FBI Agent and an investigator with the Secretary of State's Office.

The investigators were trying to talk with Matheny about the 2010 Primary Election voter fraud case in Lincoln County.

Lincoln County Sheriff Jerry Bowman and former Lincoln County Clerk Donald Whitten are scheduled to plead guilty in connection with the vote fraud case.

Matheny is being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
