William W. "Bill" Jones, 86 - Parkersburg

William W. "Bill" Jones, 86, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, died at 9:10 am, Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in the CCMC- Memorial Campus, Parkersburg.

He was born March 31, 1925, in Walton, a son of the late James S. and Alpha B. Myers Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle and John Jones.

Bill was a retired employee of the WV Department of Highways, Roane County office. He was a 1945 graduate of Walton High School and a 1947 graduate of the Mt. State College, Parkersburg. Bill was a 50+ year member of the Mt. Olive Lodge No. 3, A.F. & A.M., Parkersburg. He was active in the Order or DeMolay; receiving the Honorary Legion of Honor. Also, in 1978, he was recognized as SMC's Advisor of the Year and in 1970 he received the Outstanding Service Award. He enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) West of Bridgeport WV; a brother, Denzil (Leona) Jones of Ripley WV; several nieces, grand nieces and nephews.

After cremation, he will be buried in the Clover Cemetery, Clover WV. A small gathering of family and close friends will be held at that time.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
