State Police from Calhoun, Roane and Clay and the Calhoun Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call at 11:30 p.m. Saturday to Rt. 16 between Arnoldsburg and Orma, to a report of a woman being beaten and others being threatened.
At about 2 a.m., State Police took Charles Edward Williams, 36, into custody. He was charged with domestic battery and domestic assault, misdemeanors, and taken to Central Regional Jail.
Reports indicate the woman was not taken to the hospital at the time of the incident.
