Floyd Beam 72, of Newark, West Virginia, passed away February 23, 2012 at his residence after an short illness, He was the son of the late John and Elana June (Morrison) Beam and the grandson of the late Charles Beam, who was a Veterinarian in Mt. Nebo WV. He served in the US Army Reserves for several years. Floyd enjoyed fishing , cooking, making knives, painting, being outdoors and spending time with his friends. He is survived by his 6 children, Debra Beam of Grottoes VA, Travis (Lindsay) Beam of Harrisonburg VA, Jonathon (Leslie) Beam of Harrisonburg, Charles (Susan) Beam of Sod WV, Elsie (Richard) Henson of Powhatan VA and Rock Beam of WV; several grandchildren; 3 sisters, Leathel Russell of South Bloomingville OH, Patty Arther of Virginia Beach VA, Elizabeth Barton Chillicothe OH; 2 aunts, Merti Dolley and Irene Hughes both of Mt. Nebo WV. In addition to his parents and grandparents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. There will be no services, Floyd's wishes where to be returned to the family farm in Mt. Nebo. Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth was entrusted with the arrangements.
