WEST VIRGINIANS CAN FILE TAXES FREE ON-LINE

West Virginia officials are encouraging state taxpayers to take advantage of free online filing services. The state has a partnership with the Free File Alliance that gives about 70 percent of West Virginians fast and free access to file their taxes online. Taxpayers who meet adjusted gross income requirements can visit www.WVTax.gov to prepare, complete and e-file state and federal returns at no cost. Officials say refunds for electronically filed tax returns can be directly deposited into bank accounts in as little as a week. Refunds for paper-filed returns can take six to eight weeks.
