Janice M. Young, 59 - Spencer

Janice M. Young, 59, of Spencer, West Virginia, died at 5:24 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 in Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

She was born September 28, 1952 in Spencer, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Eulah M. Nester Anderson.

Janice was a homemaker and mother. She was a Christian and formerly attended the Flat Fork Baptist Church, Looneyville. She was a former employee of the WVDOH, Roane County office. Also, she was a 1970 graduate of Spencer High School.

Janice was a volunteer for several organizations including the Gandeeville Head Start and the Gerald B. Freeman Campground, Sutton and she was a former Brownie troop leader. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband, William B. Young, Jr.; children, Christopher S. Anderson of Spencer, Jennifer N. Young of Spencer and Kimberly D. Wolfe of Conway SC; stepchildren, Allison D. Walton of Wilmington NC, Wendy N. Ryan of Gandeeville WV and William C. Young of Weston WV; three grandchildren, Isaiah L. Parsons, Anika Wolfe and Terran Wolfe; six step grandchildren, Whitney K. Edge, Andrew Walton, Adrienne Walton, Daniel Walton, Amber Ryan and Courtney Ryan; brother, Clifford W. Anderson of Spencer.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Swank Cemetery, Speed. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
